When Friedrich Hüsken and his wife Helge founded their company in March 1962, they enriched the Lange Straße in Lippstadt with exclusive international fashion. Herewith Hüsken was one of the first fashion boutiques to sell international designer fashion in Germany. After their successful entry into the designer fashion market, the founders decided to open up a boutique called “Hüsken 2000” in the Kahlenstraße 13-15 selling young, constantly changing, and affordable fashion. With their concept, one boutique for designer and one boutique for young fashion, the company expanded to Gütersloh in 1972 and, since then, also serves customers in the eastern Westphalia area.

Oliver Hüsken, son of Friedrich and Helge Hüsken, joined the company in 1991 as the new manager and, together with his wife Ulrike Hüsken, took over the company in 2009 as it’s owner. To expand the commuting area of the company and gain an outstanding position in the exclusive fashion retailing market in June 2011, a new boutique was established in Bielefeld. With this step, the Hüskens acquired convincing fashion arrangements with more than 70 predominant brands from Milan, Paris, London, Berlin, and Düsseldorf. In the past five decades the Hüskens have been able to introduce the most recognizable designer brands to the region: Chloé, Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Mugler, Gaultier, and Céline from France, Burberry and Paul Smith from England, Dries van Noten and Ann Demeulemeester from Belgium, Yohji Yamamoto and Issey Miyake from Japan, Norma Kamali and Donna Karan from the USA, and Jil Sander and Rena Lange from Germany. Today Italian and French fashion, because of it’s soft materials and colorless, makes up the emphasis in the Hüsken boutiques. Concerning this, famous fashion labels such as Valentino, Céline, Chloé, Cucinelli and Marni are labels offered at Hüsken boutiques.

Nearly each of the 28 employees in all the four boutiques has been educated in the company to offer sophisticated customers a heartfelt and individual consultation. The company that celebrated it’s 50th year anniversary in 2012 looks ahead with a good business model and a lot of experience, to a future in which, according to the hopes of Ulrike and Oliver Hüsken, the third generation of Hüsken’s, their daughters Helen and Hannah, will also be inspired for the business of fashion.
